This lead’s drives at Sweihan meant I must dust my trusty old alarm bell to ring in time to play the fastest finger fist on Monday evening. All work is one side and finding a place on the drive is on the other. it must be done irrespective.

The previous week we had a foggy road leading up to Sweihan but a fogless sky at our meeting point, the drive got delayed slightly since some of our friends could not come on time due to dense fog on the road. But this Sunday it was the reverse. The road leading up to Sweihan was particularly clear. I was at Sweihan early waiting for our Lead and Sweep, as I started a bit early expecting the prospect of fog on the way and met up with one of the participants. And we started from there behind convoy lead and as soon as we left the Sweihan town, we were welcomed by fog encroached roads, it was spooky to say the least. There were no fog alarms to drive slowly, but we did not need one as well – as we could hardly drive any faster than 80kmph.

Soon after reaching the meeting point, we deflated and waited for a bit of fog to subside, it wasn’t going anywhere. So, we drove in a bit into the desert and instead made a nice fire circle, while reflecting on the idea that it could have been so much better if the weather had gotten better. A host of topics were discussed and enjoyed by all. After an hour of waiting, we started to drive again, and the fog had all but gone and then we started doing the customary dune bashing on top of huge mountains of sand.

Unfortunately, we had to go and drop one of the members back on the track because his car developed an unknown issue that has remained a mystery to this day. But the rest of us had great fun and were looking forward to the next one.
