This drive was in Abu Dhabi and due to the COVID, all the drivers who were moving from Dubai to Abu Dhabi needed a test. There were two options either get a RT-PCR or a rapid DPI Laser Test. I booked my slot on the app the previous day and started early at 2:00 am. from home.

The test was quick and received the SMS quite quickly and had to show it to the border police at the check point. Once it is done on my way to Sweihan. As usual I was the first to reach the meeting point and start deflating. The sunrise was fantastic and my son who was accompanying me slept through all of it.

It was a fun drive, the dunes were taller than I ever had seen before, and it is just my 3rd drive. The lead who had posted the drive on the club was at the back in sweep and another person lead the drive and at the end of the drive it was announced that he was made Marshal in the club. I was driving quite well till I had to cross a dune, we were quite up a tall dune the cross was small though. I got crested on it and it was scarry for me. The sweep who is also an excellent off-roader and an experienced marshal, quickly used some rope to pull me out.

The convoy length was 8 cars long and we drove for 40.8 km and took 3:44 hours from start to finish of which 2:17 was taken for actual driving.
